...when doubling on video poker machines?

I prefer the old school style where you get a card, then you have 4 cards to find the card that is higher than the card at display. Both RTG and MG are good places to have that kind of double system.

So. Is just me who dislikes the "new" crappy choose the shape of the card or its color double system?

You're not alone oriug. If I've ever played video poker, I prefer the choice of 4 cards to beat the shown card.

Where abouts are you talking about with this strange gamble feature (choose the shape of the card)?

Ah, good news that I am not the only one then.

You can find this strange double system over at EUcasino (andt he casinos belonging to this group), all of NetEnt vp's (casinoeuro, unibet, bet365 etc etc.)

But yes, the 4-card system is x-times better. More fun anyway. The choose color or shape system is just frustrating. If you manage to choose correct color, you double the win, if you manage to choose correct shape, you tripple the win. However, it gets frustrating if you choose heart-shape and you get diamond-shape instead, the same with the black one's. And sometimes one can get heart-shape like 5 times in a row, and when you choose heart-shape, something else comes up instead... So nah, Imma stick myself the 4-card system instead. Much easier, fun and quicker.

Hi Oriug,

I love Video Poker but i  do not love the gamble features at all. Why would i want to risk losing my winnings anyway. The gamble features with red or black card and high or low card it try to avoid. I wish there was an option on those video poker machines that would disable that option from constantly popping up when you win.

Hey lips,
i do agree with you, and that is very good question of perspective. Yet many ppl would say quite the opposite and never miss a chance to test luck on that feature every win. I suppose its mostly hardcore gamblers who think the real thrill of gambling is when you put a big win to the test of luck (i would never do such a thing so probably im aint much of gambler hehe)

As for the double up feature i suppose they took that crapy system from slots as mostly slots have it that way, but at my oppinion they are ruining the traditional taste of video poker with it.

There is one software that allows you to actually tell it to NEVER give the double up option so it is possible to have it for those who want it and not to have it otherwise. I think it is the software you get at the bingo sites with an attached casino.

I have a rule for myself with the gamble feature and that is the only time I will do it is when I have won less than half of my bet with the hand. But prefer when it is just not an option at all.

What's video poker without gambling feature? Sounds pretty stupid to me, to be honest. I do agree that gambling on video slots is rather boring since it's just boring gamble there. But for video pokers I do like to have the gambling feature enabled.

And you clearly haven't searched well around, but there are casinos that allows both no double feature and even half-double. And on some casinos you CAN turn the double feature OFF in the settings, but unfortunately, I don't remember which casino that was.

I do understand that there are users who are strictly against doubling their winnings, but it's rather easy for them to just continue their play by just hitting the "deal"-button again. Because if you really wish to double, you have start hitting another button instead, so yeah.. it's fairly easy to avoid or even ignore it, girl. Hehe.

I have a very easy rule, which seems to be working really well MOST of the times; If I get the lowest wins valued at 5, I double them to either 10 or 20. SOMETIMES if I've got a nice balance, I even go to 40. If I get a win with value of 10, I double it to 20, so only once. Fair and easy. The rest I just cash in.
