I'd guess it's politics, 'good ole boys' networking, and the almighty dollar that are behind most of that.
Those are all good questions!

Again sorry for the double post, does the edit button disappear after a short period of time or am I wigging out?
But...after reading through your post I had to reply because I agree with everything you just said. They could solve gigantic budget problems by taking a small piece of the gambling pie. There are race tracks that have poker and black jack that the government takes a piece of. Lottery tickets can be bought on any street corner, they make a mint on that stuff. Yet, I can't play a game of texas hold em online? Its just crazy. Hopefully something happens. Great post.

yes, the edit button does disappear - usually about a 30 minute timeline. Maybe disappears sooner if someone quotes you or replies. Not sure. There are many many ways our government could collect more money from us, and ways in which we are more than glad to participate! Just look at how much they are taking in from medicinal marijuana in taxes: last time I checked over 11 million in Federal taxes and also they got state taxes as well. Open up the 50 states!!! Let Americans be Free At Last! Why can't we pursue happiness as guaranteed in the constitution???
