Hiya LCB'ers,

Ok i am fired up once again! Every once in awhile i get so angry about this whole situation that i want to screeeeeeam!

Here is the current plight the US is in now..........

They don't even have the money to pay Social Security benefits. This is money that we the tax payers have paid into from the time we were old enough to work and poooffffffff it's gone!

This is money that retired and handicapped rely on to survive and it's up in the air if there will be any checks sent out in August.

So what is happening? They are working feverishly behind closed doors to find a resolution to the mess they are in.

Wouldn't it be a bright idea to legalize gambling right about now with revenue that will bring in billions of dollars?

I think it's time to legalize it and give some reprieve from the terrible mess we are in. I don't think it is rocket science to get all this worked out and shouldn't take years to accomplish.

Sigh............what do you think?

I agree Lips.

I'm just gobsmacked that there is not enough money to pay the Social Security benefits; I had no idea it was that bad.

They know how many billions of dollars can be made from regulation of online gambling and it is beyond me to understand why they haven't already got this rolling.

Makes me angry too.

They could benefit from legalizing more than online gambling.  But, that would be a great start.

I absolutely 100% agree lips!  The only problem I see is that if they do work it out to get it legalized and start bringing in the billions of dollars... the same BUFFOONS that have stripped Social Security will be deciding how it is spent... That being the case I don't reckon a lot of it will get to the Americans that really need it!

The premise is Social Security and Medicare are for the poor.  Meanwhile there is military spending and tax cuts that directly benefit the rich (and so does war.)
The thing with online gambling is it is a vehicle for a poor/middle class person to potentially get rich (like selling booze legal or illegal has created its share of millionaires).  And this United States government wants to monitor everyone's finances (to be aware of sudden shifts from poor to rich.)

Do we all get to ask for refunds for all the SS deductions taken from our checks over the years?  It was taken for a purpose and if that purpose is not upheld, give it back.

The US government is so screwed up. Never liked Obama and like him less now.  So much for change. HA

Anyway:  I would like gambling legalized... whatever the justification or reason.

Class warfare .. Ya think Pacer? Those in power , are those to dictate who will be of power. I distinctly remember the French Revolution here.

What is considered 'rich'?  I always here your analysis which is BS unless your talking about those making more than 3 million a year.  Trust me, I know.

I sure hope they get this straightened out. There are millions of people who depend on this money to survive. :(To me a person whose money is making them money as in being able to live off the interest is rich.We are in a financial crapper right now and it needs to be fixed thru whatever means are possible.    I'm rich because I love and have people that love me.
