Hiya
LCB'ers,
So now the
DOJ has determined the Wire Act in 1961 is referring to
sports betting only. It took (let me do the math)....... 50 years for the US government to finally figure it out. If there was a higher intelligence looking down on us they would probably scratch their heads and who knows what else and say "huh"? Well to be honest there is plenty of earthlings thinking the same thing!
Now there is a big spaghetti bowl mess to sift through. Why is sports betting considered to be "illegal" in the first place. Especially when you consider that many states now ONLY allow sports betting online including my own state. Ahhh that's right ONLY
horse racing is legal in my state....another "huh" moment. Ok, so that means the gov has determined that horse
racing is not a form of sports betting....uh huh that makes sense

With this new decision does that mean that all the law suits, prison time and hefty fines against
online poker sites will be dropped? After all the law now clearly states it's for sport bets only remember? Oh oh oh....how silly of me of course these cases won't be dropped because we have the
UIGEA implemented in 2006. But but but........does that law really count now? The US gov is going to tell us yes...another "huh" moment.
This is great news because it will now open the virtual doors for
online gambling for US players and the sky is the limit. But wait one sec, rumors are circulating that online Poker will be considered but that online casinos are a long way off......huh?
Can you see why i am so confused? Why in the world would sports betting be considered illegal but not any other form of gambling? Yet we will still have restrictions on forms of gambling, you can bet your bottom dollar on that. It's like handing a kid a lollipop and then taking it back because it isn't the right color, shape, flavor or design. A lollipop is a lollipop no matter how you look at it!
It took 50 years folks to decipher a law on the books. In the mean time it has reeked havoc on us all. And now after they untangle all that spaghetti where will it leave the US gambler? The insanity of it all continues...........
