Hello. I am heading off to Atlantic City Sunday night and thought I would try some slots action. I tried playing slots online and lost $300...darn! Any advice, or is slots just 100% luck driven?

Hey Drpsyce..
The best advice I can give you is to first try to find loose machine in the areas I always list like by the snack bar, cashiers booth, or free standing carosels. Dont just pick a machine at random. Stay away from machines by the tables, and by the buffet lines.
Then, learn a little about he machine before you play. Read the payout screen so you understand a little about the lines if it is a video machine. (The o'le three line slot machines are still best odds. ) I always play about 10-15 spins and see how it is paying. If after those spins your percentage of payout is less than 80% the machine is in a take cycle and it is time to move on. When you find a machine in a Pay cycle, settle in and then is when luck comes into play as well. That random number generator is always in control. Don't stay at a losing machine. Slots also become more profitable if when you win you " HIT AND RUN." I know you play like this too. Get a decent profit, pocket your original bankroll, plus a profit, and play the rest if so desired. Slots are purely luck, but there are things we can do to increase our chances of winning. Go with your gut instinct....when u walk through the casino...whats callin your name...do you feel a vibe when u see a certain machine?
If you sit down at one and feel doomed...you prolly are!

Hey Dr,
I seem to have the best luck at the slots close to the entrances. I also like the traditional slots, double diamond and red, white and blue. Usually to play all the lines is just 5 times your bet, unlike the video slots where some of them have 20 or more lines and your max bet ends up being 100 times your bet. (I learned that one the hard way, I was drunk not paying attention) Have fun and GOOD LUCK!!
