  • I tired to go to Always Vegas  website so I could re download and install, and this is what I get...

  • huh That is weird... do you always get PokerStars when you go to Always Vegas?
I have Always Vegas on my computer and just logged in to my account with no problem and even found a free $7 Welcome Back chip (glad you asked this question!) So, I don't think they have shut down for US Players...(yet?)
  • well it looks to be getting slimmer and slimmer this last week for us in the USA,  i can't express how terribly upset i am getting with this ..

  • I dont know, but according to LCB this casino is closed.. huh

  • :(

  • Hi Jacob,

they havent been seized according to their Rep. However Im not so sure they are not closing... this is why we closed their review for the time being

As I'm sure you've noticed, our site at http://www.alwaysvegas.com is showing some unusual behavior. Our site was hijacked a few days ago and we have lost all connections to the site and hosting.

Rest assured that none of this is a result of the recent happenings in the US and that we are working diligently to get a new site up and running. As a result, our new home will be changed to AlwaysVegas.EU .

We will have all of our banners changed to match the domain and will issue an email when every thing is back to usual.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you in advance for your understanding.

  • hmmmm wonder why I could play there just now??? I played the Welcome Back chip but did not try to deposit...

  • I can honestly say its about time casinos were cracked down hard on.

If we look at the truth (of course not generalizing all casinos):

Casinos delay paying you but take your cash right away
The make any excuse not to pay (many anyway, such as no ID, being "too good" a player etc)
They try to get you to part with your fair and square winnings before you get it (long reverse times, free chips given after your hit withdraw)
They sell your details (some do, many pass your email to other casinos which generates constant inbox spam)
They set up fake business websites and abuse that class of payment processor's to process gambling transactions (namely gocasino group taking deposits under fake furniture or fishing businesses)
They use misleading tactics to get us to deposit
They become greedy after we have a big loss and cant even give a $10 free chip (usually is the "you lost, its our money now... tuff" concept)

I wish a big crackdown in the UK would happen,

I'm a US player and I have too agree.  Although I miss playing some of these (especially Microgaming) I would much rather play with confidence like I do walking into a casino.  I am always amazed at the payout problems.  Need this or that, is a bunch of crap.  If you can deposit in 30 seconds then you should be able to withdrawl as well.  Yes its that simple.  So for now, no more deposits I'll wait till the US takes control and regulates.
  • well yea for some crackdown , but no then also because there isn't an official regulation. . therefore more fuel for the fire against online gambling, we are using channels such as these forums to find those that are regulating themselves fairly comparable to that of forced regulation.. wouldn't you say ?

  • The thing it seems is many governments (namely the uk government) cannot be bothered to get involved and make sure proper regulating happens.

Every single casino running that I play at is "regulated" overseas. Even the well known uk bookie "William Hill" has their casino regulated somewhere that isnt the UK.

The government never say no to tax from it, but they wont step in and do a thing.

Gambling is a great way of entertainment but it also can be peoples worst enemy. But again like the way casinos run, nothing is done about it really.

The only thing the goverment has put in place in the last few years is that chip shops are not allowed to have set odds machines like slot or quiz machines. But they have replaces them with "skill" machines which imo are basically the same thing.

Casinos are always in profit (unless they over budget on staff/advertising but that would be their own fault). If most had their own way they would never pay anyone a thing but that damages reputation thus its better to pay people (slowly) and have them come back and refer others.

Fraud is another trump card used by them... "it has to be reversible for x amount of time for anti-fraud purposes", "sorry you dont have ID and for anti-fraud purposes we need it so we wont pay you". There has been simple solutions for it. Where every new member gets a card sent to them in the post with a unique code on they can activate in their account before depositing.... but alas it hasnt been implemented.

  • After reading many articles on the internet regarding the details behind the operations that the feds have seized, it's amazing the amount of corruption and law breaking taking place.  The people involved in these businesses have literally made hundreds of millions on U.S. players.  It would be hard for them to part from this which is why they "stayed in the game" knowing the risk it involved.  Just comes down to pure and simple greed.

Another sportsbook, SportsInteraction, pulled out of U.S. just today.  Maybe the casinos think they're not as high profile and that why places like RTG continue to accept U.S. play.  I don't think Intertops should be too far behind.

Given all the wrongdoings right now, these places can pull just about anything (bonus banning, non-payment, etc.) because they have no future in the U.S. as they most likely would never get a license.  With that being said, I don't feel comfortable in any way depositing to an offshore operation right now.  Reputations don't seem to matter to many of the RTG, Rival, Top Game providers so "anything goes".  Should that include your money?

  • Very good point and my thoughts as i concur with you there caseyk.

  • Marcus - apparently there is a "Green Paper" somewhere in the pipeline about regulating or something similar in the EU.  Can't remember exactly - I'm off to bed now, so I'll have a nose around tomorrow.

Very true caseyk.  Regulation has to be the best thing for the USA punter; I just wish they would pull their finger out and get on with it.  Five years and counting since the UIGEA was "enforced", long enough to sort something out surely.
