  • OK, here's a question I have wondered about.

I know that when you're "Shilling" at a casino, you simply are playing "For fun" and you're not going to get to keep any of the winnings you do get. You're simply there for show and to attract others who will play (And hopefully lose) sad

Now personally, I'd be a great shiller. I bet crazy, cheer when I won or groan when I lost. I'd really try to get people to play. hysterical

But knowing how these websites are set up and the affilate program works (Kind of) I am a loss to understand why someone would "Shill" for an online casino and (To me) they don't seem to be making anything from this. huh huh

So am I confused unless they are in it to make money and I just don't get how they do it! dizzy dizzy
  • perhaps just a regular ol employee who draws a cheque

  • Hi,Gene...

Good question...:) and here is what I know about  A SHILL!

A shill is a person who helps another person or organization to sell goods or services without disclosing that he or she has a close relationship with the seller.

The shill pretends to have no association with the seller/group and gives onlookers the impression that he or she is an enthusiastic independent customer.

The person or group that hires the shill is using crowd psychology, to encourage other members who might not know, to purchase the said goods or services.

Shilling is wrong in my opinion, in many circumstances because of the frequently fraudulent and damaging character of the shill's actions.

Now, to answer to your other question...I am not so sure what or how much but guessing it all depends on what casino(s) and what type of shill, but it all comes down to so called "compensations"...like getting paid as a employee or play with house money only to encourage other players...

  • There's little out there that ISN'T shilled
celebs promoting products, obscure reviewers flouting shows and movies, placed customers in casinos; laughers and clappers in audiences...welcome to a capilalistic world lol

  • OK, I was just wondering how or if this person got paid. Man I'd be so bored with doing it online I'd go nuts hysterical

  • some people are just idiots, but have a nice day!

  • Hi geneco, the main part of your question is the shill's pay. Yes they are compensated. How much, only the shill and who they are working for, know.

  • WOW i dont like the concept of shilling it just doesnt seem right.Dont they have enough reps to shill for the company?Freechips are great yes but the playthrus can give you a headache and besides that shill for a casino that doesnt rip people off(im not condoning shilling so please dont take my response as so)Rialto, really  laugh_out_loud exclamation huh enough said

  • Don't be so eager to disagree do a little investigating first. I got frustrated one day and started checking out RTG winner pages. At least the ones that post winners. And was rather amazed to find alot of the same names at different sites. Very questionable to me! Also at the end of 2009 beginning of 2010 amazingly Brett from WA won about 10 different jackpots at Clubworld. Which they posted on their ticker on the main page. Random, I don't know? exclamation exclamation
