Having played at many online casinos up till now I've realized that there's definitely a battle between the various online casino software providers out there for domenance in who has the most games. I personally think that the cookie cutter approach that's taken by many of the software developers out there when it comes to slots games and other game variants isn't one that can ultimately last. Players including myself love diversity and more importantly a wide array and spread of game features that goes above and beyond that of simply revising a payout table and recycling existing game features. I think that's it's important that online casino software providers start looking at land based casino games more carefully and analyzing exactly how they and what they're doing. 5 reel slots and more importantly feature rich games are going to continue to pave the way of the future as it relates to slots entertainment so it would be wise for casino software providers online to start thinking a head and focusing on developing killer slots.

I think Microgaming is more pronounced here in what I'm talking about. They feature a library of over 300 casino games for which players can choose from and play. However if you actually play their games and play more then just a few you'll notice how similar most of their games. I do think that Microgaming is one of the best online casino software providers out there but if they were to focus on having 50 WMS caliber games they'd be far superior and way a head of the game if you ask me.

Anyways these are my thoughts on the current state of online casino games and I'm interested to hear what others have to say about it.

Hi Critter,

I could not agree with you more. While online casinos offer a variety of slots...they all ultimately have the same run of the mill bonuses. I really do not understand why bonuses can not have alittle more animation and offer a greater diversity.

I myself personally only play video slots when online. The newer game Hidden Treasures' bonus round is different from the main stream video slots. I was hoping it was maybe a new wave to the future. But, two more new games arrived and it is basically back to square one.

Online casinos though convenient to play at home...can't hold a candle to the slot machines in land based casinos. Land based casinos offer slots with an array of bonus features. This is what makes slots so much fun.

I can only surmise that online creators for slot games must be very cautious when duplicating land line casino slots....even then with a little creativity, bonus rounds can be implemented to entice the player.

Great post critter!
