  • There is no way a bank can prove your debit card was used for any prohibited transactions unless the process submitted the transactions as such. Which I doubt they would do. If anyone has any questions about this, you are free to send me a pm(I don't trust that our posts aren't being watched. If you know what I mean.

  •         Hey Kynettie,  just curious why a debit from your bank would be so much more reliable than a prepaid Visa (for example)?  I had been using my  Visa prepaid for a while with no problems  QT (until  they put the kabash on that),  buying prepaids to use online and recently using My Paylinq.    About a week and a half or so ago the deposit didn't go through on My Paylinq.    Freaked me out, man. I call the company and they say (politely) you cannot use the card for so and so.  So now I guess it's about as useful as a Vanilla Visa only good within the US.    I mean this just came  totally out of the blue.  No notice, nothing.  I had to find out the hard way.  So now I don't know what to do,  I have a MC credit card that I have never used in that capacity,  little nervous about it.  Any suggestions,  anybody?

Per the Bankersonlineforum.com; prepaid cards are being hit hard to stop use for "prohibited" purchases. You can go to their website and search their forums.

I doubt there will be any prepaids that you can use in the the near future if they already haven't put the new regs in place
  • The difference between prepaid debit and debit is that pre-paid is blocking international purchases while your bank debit cannot and is not.

Don't know about YOUR bank footdre, but MY bank certainly WAS able 2 trace my transactions 2 on-line casinos.  I don't know how, but they were.
  •           Hey Tin,  that is a little scary,  it seems like another door is closing on us.  If you don't mind me asking, what bank is it.  PM if you want.

  •                 What about MasterCard credit cards? are they valid if used to buy a prepaid card through a site?  That should be legit right?

  • Im using Netspend Prepaid and am having no problem.  I ordered mine online to make sure I got a VIsa.  Many casinos are saying they are having problems with the Mastercard.  I googled Netspend Visa  and found where Netspend sends you Visa.  If you just register at regular Netspend by default they send you a Mastercard.  Also i wanted to make sure when i got my Visa card that it had my name on it.  Gl all cool

If your transactions were processed by a "Processor" for the merchant, it is not possible to trace the transactions to online casinos unless the transactions were submitted as "gaming" and coded as such.  Many Merchants located in the U.S. use overseas banks/processors and the only transactions that should be questioned are those coded as "gaming", "casino" and the like.  I have accounts at two of the largest banks and never have had problems. When I am called, I verify the amount, not the name of the processor as I as a customer have no idea who is processing transactions for the merchant I did business with. The banks no that
  • oh...i forgot to mention that you can  load online....no need to go to a reload center.  If its a $100 or less its half the price what a reload center charges. money

  • Why am I seeing "usemywallet" as an option at some casinos?  Are they WAY behind fixing their deposit page or has usemywallet come back on the scene?

Seriously, unless the transaction was coded as such instead of merchandise, phone calls and the like; they were probably guessing based on international transaction or inabillity to verify the processor submitting the transaction.  Or, I have noticed some casinos tell you that it will be charged as xxxcasino or xxxgaming; when I see that I stay clear.
I will do alittle research on this and see what I can come up with.

You know Footdr., you're right. And this was right around the time things initially started getting so crazy 4 U.S. players, so I can't recall what the transactions were coded as. I'm going 2 bet it did reference the word casino in there somewhere.  I'm going 2 guess that after that is when the casinos started getting more crafty w/ what the transactions were coded as.  U can't imagine how PARANOID I became after that happened w/ the bank!! Now, I can't deposit AT ALL, b/c my bank debit is a Mastercard sad  Thinking of other options, and just getting angrier by the day that we have 2 jump through hoops just 2 have some fun! sad
  •         Hey Tin,Footdr,  this is of considerable interest to me 'cause recently my prepaid Visa went kaput and I can't even deposit to Paylinq.    So now I don't quite know what to do.  So if you get a checking acct. with a Visa check/debit card you're okay? is that right?

  • Visa debit issued by Bank has worked for me since all ewallets shutdown. Also AMEX at a few casinos and bingo sites.
I have never used pre-paid cards

  • You might want to ask the bank though about there policy on international transactions.  I know my bank card has a visa logo on it, but yet they've taken the stance.  That I have to sign a waiver to release the restriction, and then how long I want the restriction released.  They said this is mainly restricted to card present transactions if the waiver is going to be longer than a week.  Then they like to have there cards shut down to foreign transactions for a while.

  •             That sounds kinda' tough, if you don't mind me asking, which bank is that?  I'm looking to start a checking acct. with one that uses Visa--Not MasterCard.

  • hi bongo,

check out my previous replies on this topic.  I have no problem with using netspend for depositsl.  Make sure to google "netspend visa".  The main website sends mastercard by default.  8'|

I personally would not like my bank account attached to gambling.  As far as withdrawals...check out my mypaylinq...theyve got some screwy rules but its the only wallet open to USA that i know of.

  • Hi Bongo,

Just checked and you started the MyPayLinq topic  laugh_out_loud Opps!  Ha Ha

  •         laugh_out_loud,  that's okay, I appreciate everyone's advice.  What I was thinking was possibly make deposits to MyPaylinq via a bank(card)  Not directly to the casino.  That's perfectly legit, right?

  • Netspend is a good card, but I personally think that Green Dot is way better.  I haven't near the problems I was having with Netspend.  The only upside for Netspend was the cheaper bank load.  Yet to get declined at random intervals was a bit annoying.
The main reason why I'm looking at doing a hobby account eventually it to run away from these fees you pay to load, the foreign transaction fee you pay to do a transaction, then varying on card you either pay per transaction or a monthly fee to boot.  I mean it's bad enough we pay anywhere from $7 to skies the limits to make a withdrawal.  I hate being taxed to pay into the system.

  • It was legit bongo, but from some of the posts in this thread it sounds like at least the big banks are catching on to MyPayLinQ being used for casino deposits.

Makes me think like this... Here is the DOJ trying to stop offshore gambling by going after the money processors. They started with poker. Now that they have cut off all of those ewallets they are going after other funding sources usuable by US folks. MyPayLinQ is pretty visible in online casinos and one of the last options working for us. It seems it is or was inevitable that they would catch up with them sooner or later.

All they have to do is go to online casinos, see the deposit options, watch the trends in money moving offshore and put 1 and 1 together. Then they inform the banks and the banks say ok DOJ, we will not allow this, and we the people are cut off without warning! Nother hole plugged by the DOJ.

A small, local credit union or bank is slow to pick up on this, but the big banks and credit unions are quick to catch on and to stop it. I can tell you this by the way it was for me when I was depositing. 2 small credit unions I did business with never batted an eye about deposits straight to a casino, but my big credit union and big bank would not process the same transactions.

    IMHO

  •           Good advice katt,  I wonder though, how much attention do they give to these things?

  •          Good advice katt,   I wonder though, how much attention do they give to these things?

Well, they seem to be paying a great deal of attention to offshore gambling and have been since they started with the poker sites and their money processors. The more they can cut off US players from playing offshore, the more revenue will be fed into the US from the US players as they get the legalized gambling stuff worked out here. The DOJ seems to be dedicating themselves to this little project.

Now, do I think that the DOJ are paying attention to each of us little individual players? No. But I do think when they tell the banks it is forbidden, they in turn pass it down the line and individual players get their funding methods cut off. As all good plumbers know... sh*t runs down hill!

And you have to remember, this is BIG money they are talking about... very worth their while to pursue this and give us FREE people no choice but theirs... again.

  • Thanks Cheetah....going to check out Green Dot so i have an alternate prepaid.

Because of hospital bills I am unable to pay; my credit is not good.  Im thinking of opening only a savings account where I can add monthly.  Hopefully a bank will be lenient with me on that.  Does anyone know of a bank that might let me do that.  Would i be able to do a wire transfer withdrawal to a savings account.

I'm thinking of opening an ING online account.  I heard they are lenient.  Does anyone have  any thoughts on that.  I would still use my prepaid for deposits.

    Thanks all cool

  • An online bank might be a good way to go... if that does not work out, try a very small local bank or even better a small local credit union. I have had success with using those without hassle.

Let us know how all of that goes, we can all use that kind of information.

    katt

  • If your credit is shot, ING isn't' going to take you.  Your probably better off with USAA or Ally would be my first two guesses.

  • Uhm, USAA *can* work for you, if you buy a gift card with your debit MC.  They are kinda tricky for withdrawals, though.

  •         Can you buy a gift card (VIsa) at a bank that can be used?  And if so,  doesn't it have to have your name on it?

  • Thats why i order my pre-paid online...it only takes a few days to get it and you name is already on it 8'|

I have accounts at two major banks and I have never been asked to sign a waiver inorder to purchase and make transactions on foreign websites. If the fraud dept calls to ask me to verify I made the transactions I reply yes and as far as if they were processed by a foreign processor I advise that I guess that is the processor the merchant uses. Never had a problem

  •         Does anyone (US)  ever use a credit card (I have a MC)  to buy a prepaid (virtual)  like at club world  via Easy Debit or Express Payment? I use to use my prepaid Visa but that's kaput now.

  • Yes bongo all the time and i have never had a problem. You may get the CC fraud dept calling you initially to make sure you made the transaction and once you confirm it you are good to go, but aside from that i have never had an issue.

  •             Thanks Lips,  I was thinking of using my MC to buy a prepaid like I mentioned  but I'm so paranoid about the cc companies these days.  Will they approve it off the bat or will they call first?  To me, it seems perfectly legal and legit to  "buy" something online and who cares what you do with it  afterwards.  Sorry if I'm rambling  but I'm just getting so frustrated about this whole deposit thing.

  • Hey bongo... I use Paste&Pay at the casinos that offer that option, like Club World and Buzzluck. I buy vouchers with my bank and credit union debit cards and it has never caused any problem. Once set up it is way simple and takes but a moment to choose a voucher amount, buy the voucher, and paste that voucher number into the casino deposit section and play. The only problem is that there are not more casinos that take this form of voucher. And I have actually run into what seems to be the same option but requires the vouchers be bought at a different vendor.

  • If I were in your shoes, considering the recent rogueness of another processor happening.  I wouldn't even consider using a real bank account for online gaming.  Except for maybe the reason that the only funds that are in there are for online gaming.
Even though the day of the prepaid working for international transactions is slowly coming to an end.  I know one of my favorites has shut down completely and I know of another one that randomly doesn't allow for International transactions at all.  Varying on the time of day.
Gah, what a mess I tell ya, what a mess.

  • I only know of one casino group that is currently processing American Express deposits. Has anyone deposited via american express lately if so can you pm me the casino as I don't think posting it in the forum is a good idea.

I will be happy to share the name of the casino that I deposit with AMEX at if you pm me

  • greendot cut me off because of frequency of deposits? has that happened to anyone else?

  •             Can't be sure but for a long time Nfinanse (VISA) prepaid was good for buying prepaids online; now (as of a few months ago)  all of a sudden they can't do "overseas transactions" and can only operate in the U.S.?  This sucks!  It seems like one by one we're getting cut off from funding options.    I wish the sites would come up with more alternatives (legitimate, that is).

  • Hey I still like the idea of writing an eCheck or sending a Money Gram over using a prepaid visa.  Just mainly because your less likely to get shut down over those 2 methods.

  •         Does anyone (US)  ever use a credit card (I have a MC)  to buy a prepaid (virtual)  like at club world  via Easy Debit or Express Payment? I use to use my prepaid Visa but that's kaput now.

Unfortunately you can no longer purchase gift/prepaid cards at retail establishments with a credit card.

I have never used prepaid card, only credit/debit without issue.

I would never open an online bank account located outside of the u.s. as IRS requires reporting these accounts and I believe it causes your return to be "red-flagged".  Just use your debit card or credit card.  Several RTGS have a deposit method whereby you purchase a "gift-card" to complete your deposit. Check it out as I will not mention who they are.
  • this should perhaps be on the bingo side, but here goes:

New deposit method I saw at Bingo Mania:

    About EQUINOX

With Equinox you can ealisy apply for credit and get better rates than any major ccredit card:

    Low, low 9.5% APR*
    NO annual fees
    NO transaction fees
NO late payment fees on due amounts less than $100
Site Credit EQUINOX has been in the business for 10 years, providing credit services to Bingo players. Use this Credit Service as your primary source of funding or as backup when having difficulties with other options.

Once approved, accessing your credit line takes seconds and there are multiple methods available to pay off your balance.

So, it's a line of credit, and BM will give you special incentives to use this method.

  •             I just saw that article here on the PremioCard?  Anyone know anything about it and if they plan on including  the U.S. players?  It would be great if we could get a system/debit card for winnings like when Neteller was available.

  • I got this message from Club World group casinos.  Anyone sign up yet and use it?

    Thanks,

    medtrans

  • I am sticking with bank debit and credit and AMX.

  • I found the best choice to be a pre-paid debit card. I started with a Walmart card but had a lot of problems loading funds. I now use one from my bank. I have to pay to a small fee to load funds (from my personal account) but there's no international fees and I feel safer giving the number out when it's not my main bank account being accessed.

  • Any news on this new payment options (EQUINOX, OKPAY) ? I haven't heard of any of them before...
The only thing that I don't really enjoy is the verification process you have to go through every single time. In that case, I will stick to the debit cards that I can reload when I want. Not a bad thing to keep the cash flow under control!

  • Visa Debit, visa credit good to go at most casinos.  Master card and AMEX at several of them. I have never used a prepaid card.

  • So I went 2 deposit money on2 my Netspend Visa & was informed my account has been closed b/c my deposits have been linked 2 on-line casino. The casino I play at doesn't identify itself as on-line casino in the transaction (I play @ Grand Prive group only).
Can someone from the U.S. PLEASE provide any current info. on acceptable deposit methods for U.S. players????  My Mastercard from my bank will not permit, the transaction is always declined.
I would appreciate info on what others r using.  U may private message me if preferred.

  • If they take Amex, Bluebird is a good option, otherwise Green Dot has been working for most.
Otherwise if you can find a local bank that has a Visa debit card without any foreign transaction restrictions. That also might be a good option too.  Hope this helps.
Otherwise yeah, I haven't used Netspend for over a year now.  Mainly because after I got called twice asking if I had authorized a transaction.  Granted they always removed the block once I said yes.  Never did accuse me of anything.  I gave up them on the paranoia that they may eventually shut me down based on lots of foreign activity.
I also tread carefully tho still with Bluebird and Green Dot, because I can see them being the next cards to shut people down.
I'm going to try a local bank once I get a debit card from them.  To see if it works any better, mainly because there isn't any monthly fees, per load fees, or anything.  Other than a 1% foreign fee, which I can handle.
Anywho like I said a few moments ago, hopefully this gives you some pointers.

  • Thank u Cheetah smiley
