About House of Scare
There is something irresistibly tempting about a horror themed game – in fact, about a horror themed anything. I mean why is it that we seem to enjoy daring, and scaring ourselves so much? This little slot comes out in good time for Halloween from Viaden Gaming. Horror fans of any ilk will find something to enjoy in this five-reel, twenty-five pay-line video slot. It can be played for free at first before getting down to the bare bones of the game, and feeding the little monster with the money you earn with your blood, sweat and tears. The good news is, it’s a relatively low budget game, with a coin range of 0.01 to 0.20 and a maximum bet of 5.00.
Theme And Design Of The Game
Graphically the rendering of House of Scare is unique and quaint, not so much scary… more like tongue-in-cheek. It is a picturesque smorgasbord of things that go bump in the night, but with just a touch of tenderness; plenty to keep you entertained, and slightly lunatic symbols. They refer to the scatters as “Scare-ters”, and the backdrop of a haunted house, complete with mist steeped graveyard, and the obligatory eerie tree suitably sets the scene. Sounds and music, while not exactly spine-chilling are apt. Reels spin to the sound of what definitely could be the rattle of bones.
Again the symbols are illustrated with a great deal of care, and this gives House of Scare the edge over some of the games we review. It features a sexy red witch, ghost, Frankenstein’s monster, coffins on wheels, a pillow with evil intent, voodoo doll complete with pins, evil Jack ó Lanterns, vultures, a one-eyed blob kind of thing, vampire with a blunt set of fangs, and of course, a mad scientist.
Jackpots and Bonus Games
The jackpot is not very large, but this is as we said, a low budget fun game to play. A maximum win of $1000 is in the base game, and there is no progressive prize, but with bonuses a player can land up to 5000 coins. Trigger the bonus game called “Coffin Races” by landing the wheeled coffin on any three reels. The Wild is the red-headed witch, and the vulture plays the role of the scare-ter.
We absolutely adored this game, but then we are partial to a horror theme, especially when it has an off-the-wall edge. It is unique, a ton of fun to play, and promises hours of pleasure without totally breaking the bank. It will tickle the imagination of even the most avid ghost hunter.
