On February 8, 2016, Yggdrasil Gaming publicly revealed its submission of a formal application to obtain a B2B remote gaming license from the Gibraltar Licensing Authority.
The company was approved for a license from the UK Gambling Commission in December 2015 and it expects that the Gibraltar approval should be swift.
With two offices located in Malta and Poland, this is one provider that has exploded over the last year with numerous content deals under its belt. The frequent release of new game titles has boosted its portfolio and increased its exposure and popularity.
Regarding the additional licensing, Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO of Yggdrasil, said: “We were over the moon to be invited to apply for a Gibraltar licence. It’s an exclusive jurisdiction, with a number of the major operators based there, and we believe it will be a fantastic new hunting ground for us.
“We’ve pretty much covered all the player liquidity available from the operators in Malta, so now is the time for us to be targeting Gibraltar where we will be building up our presence.
“We’ll be putting some people on the ground in Gibraltar and are actively recruiting. We strongly believe we can hit the ground running as we have carved out a niche for ourselves that is different from other suppliers.”
Yggdrasil has launched a variety of innovative online games including Cazino Zeppelin, Cyrus the Virus, Draglings, Fruitoids, Holmes & the Stolen Stones, Incinerator, Joker Millions, Magic Mushrooms, Nirvana, Reef Run, Robotnik, The Dark Joker Rizes, Vikings Go Wild and Winterberries.
