British land and online gambling group William Hill plc has announced the impending retirement of Corporate Affairs Director Ian Spearing (61) who plans to leave the company at the end of this year after almost 20 years of service.
In a statement issued by the company this week, chairman Charles Scott said: "Ian joined William Hill 18 years ago and was appointed to the Board in April 2007. During his tenure he fulfilled a number of significant roles, including working with the Government and the bookmaking industry in relation to taxation, regulation and issues involving the relationship with horse and greyhound racing. His experience and contribution to the company will be greatly missed and we wish him a long and happy retirement."
Spearing's current responsibilities will be shared amongst the existing members of the executive management team of the company.
