Back Update: Spanish National Gambling Association Approves GLI Europe as Spanish Certification Provider

Number of accredited system testing and certification companies keeps growing

An announcement arrived this week from the Spanish National Gambling Commission that it has granted accreditation to GLI Europe to test and certify iGaming Platforms in Spain for prospective license holders.

This way the list of companies that obtained such accreditation has increased by another member, which has been authorized as an independent testing laboratory for both B2B iGaming platform suppliers and B2C online gaming operators. Some of the others include Metrology & Gaming Limited NMI, Foundation for the Promotion of Industrial Innovation of the University of Madrid, and Spain Testlabs BMM, S.L.U.

In addition, GLI Europe, along with Metrology & Gaming Limited, NMI and Deloitte, S.L. is authorized as an independent auditor of Information Security Systems (ISS), another certificate that is required from iGaming operators before the Spanish Gaming Authorities allow them to provide their services to players.

According to GLI Europe Managing Director Phillip Barow, “We are thrilled to have obtained this accreditation. GLI will continue to be the world’s leading test laboratory for internet games and platforms, because there are three distinguishing factors that set GLI apart from all other labs: our bandwidth, technical expertise, and ability to save clients time to market and money through our testing results transfer system. We will use these advantages to take products previously approved for Italy, France, the AGCC and other highly regulated markets and quickly and inexpensively certify those same products for Spain.”

He also added that the company is in a favorable position to "re-use work previously undertaken for the opening of the Italian and French markets and the AGCC, providing a shorter turnaround time on already tight deadlines for prospective license holders.”
