Back Station Casino to Open New Location in Reno

The Nevada-based Station Casinos brand, operating under Red Rock Resorts, is planning to open a new location in “the biggest little city in the world,” Reno. The brand had previous plans of opening a casino in the city of Reno, back in 2004, but efforts were halted as a result of economic downturn, and the brand’s bout with bankruptcy.

It has been reported that Station recently filed an application to open an 84k-square-foot gaming facility on S. Virginia Street, in Reno, on 8 acres of land. The project is estimated to cost between $50m and $70m to construct.

Its gaming license from the Reno Turf Club, will enable the brand to construct the casino space, without the inclusion of hotel rooms. Despite the lack of accommodations, the casino plans to incorporate a bistro-style dining option, plus a variety of entertainment options, including a bowling alley, and movie theater.

Prior to its interest in opening a location in Reno, Station purchased the Palms Casino Resort for $312 million in Sin City. In addition to the company’s plans for the near future, it has also recently announced that its land-based and mobile sports betting offering has been upgraded. Station casino sportsbooks have also launched new Stadium Technology Group software, which integrates third-party applications.

It has also, with the aid of Miomni Gaming, unveiled a mobile betting app, which is currently available on iOS and Android devices. Titled the STN Sport app, it is expected to deliver faster updates, increased battery life, and better reliability.
