Two popular online casinos saw their equipment seized, and their personnel brought in
It was reported by the local Serbian media that their police has dissolved an “online gambling city,” arresting a number of persons at the time.
The Serbian Interior Ministry issued an announcement that the people who got arrested now face charges for unauthorized organization of the games of chance, as Go Wild Casino.com did not acquire the licenses from the Serbian National Lottery and the Games of Chance Administration at the local Finance Ministry.
The operation which resulted in these arrests and confiscation of the records and equipment, was called Atlantis, and it was organized to stop the online casino operations which mostly aimed at the European and U.S. market, allowing players to make deposits electronically. This money allegedly first went to offshore accounts, and was then moved to Serbia.
More details about this case are still expected.
