Back Net Entertainment Acquires UK Gaming License

After an extensive licensing processes, the Swedish software developer has finally been granted a license by the UK Gambling Commission to distribute its full portfolio of online games in the UK gaming market. The license is, however, only temporary, due to recent regulation chances that have been introduced in the country last fall.

“This is a milestone for NetEnt and we are very pleased to have been approved for UK licenses by the UK Gambling Commission. Britain is the largest gaming market in Europe and is central for
our growth strategy to expand on regulated markets'', commented Per Eriksson, President and CEO of NetEnt. As a leading provider of digital gaming solutions, we want everyone who plays our games to do it for the right reason – for fun. ''Promoting responsible gaming is fundamental to us and a condition for the licenses we hold.”

Net Entertainment is going to supply the UK market via an agreement signed with the UK based company the Rank Group Plc. One of the most influential in Europe, the company will distribute NetEnt titles to Rank's online divisions Grosvenor Casinos and Mecca- the UK's largest chain of land based casinos and a leading provider of bingo solutions which operates Mecca Bingo.

Ciara Nic Liam, Rank Digital Head of Casino Games spoke on behalf of the company saying she feels confident that NetEnt games will be very popular with the existing gaming customers, as per NetEnt's results in the UK.
