Investment bank analyst opines the turnaround specialist is a favorite for the position
This week, a tip arrived from an investment bank Evolution Securities analyst James Hollins that the most likely successor of David Yu on the position of Betfair chief is the outgoing Spirit Group chief executive Ian Dyson.
“We now view Ian Dyson as the front-runner to take the helm as chief executive of Betfair in the first quarter of 2012,” Hollins said, adding: “We would regard this as a positive catalyst, with the potential, as a turnaround specialist, to drive improved performance from the once well-regarded Betfair.”
Prior to this, Dyson was appointed as an independent non-executive director of Betfair, and he also worked in executive positions at Spirit, Marks & Spencer, The Rank Group plc, Hilton Group, Le Meridien and Arthur Andersen.
