The Harvard Medical School’s current study of problem gambling commissioned by Bwin.Party is revealing that online gambling isn’t any more addictive than any other form of gambling.
This most recent update is available here: http://www.divisiononaddiction.org/
The study involves 40,000 sports punters, 4,000 casino gamblers and 2 million poker and shows that the average online gambler wagers less often and in smaller amounts.
Thus far, research shows that higher cause for concern over online gambling addiction is unfounded as compared any form of gambling.

Sometimes there is an unspoken pressure on a player who is sitting in a casino, playing cards at a table with other gamblers or at a slot machine and there are people on both sides of you, playing all around. Sometimes there is an unspoken pressure on a player who is sitting in a casino, playing cards at a table with other gamblers or at a slot machine and there are people on both sides of you, playing all around. I think it makes up for the ability to gamble 24/7 without leaving your house, stopping whenever to go to the bathroom or make a sandwich. I thought it was interesting that the ratios used in the study were so different; 40,000 sports punters, 4,000 casino gamblers and 2 million poker players. Come on, 2million poker players, why that many? Well, whatever the ratios, I was happy to hear that we are really no different from land casino gamblers and if we are it is that we bet less.

That is peculiar, I would have thought it was much more addictive as gambling online is literally there 24/7 at the touch of a button.. I prefer it to land based gambling, its easier to concentrate, especially at blackjack etc.
