Jenny Williams, chief executive of the UK Gambling Commission, announced her departure from the position September last year, agreeing to stay in-post until a suitable successor has been found. The decision has been jeopardized recently by the fast-approaching British general elections. The appointment of a successor to outgoing head of the UK Gambling Commission will not take effect until the political changing of the guard has been concluded. The current estimates are that the appointment could be as late as September this year. The original plan was to have the change done by the beginning of 2015. There are rumors that the Commission has already settled on a new chief executive candidate, but his or hers identity will not be announced any time soon.

The appointment of the new chief executive of the UK Gambling Commission will be very important decision and probably it is right thing to be postponed until the finish of the political elections in UK.The most important thing will be the finding of the right person for the job without any hasty action.

This kind of situation is all to familiar in the US. Positions need to be filled but are not because the upcoming election will not only change some political seats, but also change the power and who they want in those appointed positions. During elections there is a lot of money floating around, greasing palms, if you know what I mean. On the other hand, I is probably best to wait until the election has concluded to get a more unified group making things easier to accomplish in government.
