GAN’s simulated gambling product is live for San Manuel Digital’s SanManuel.com following the contract between the companies announced in August 2015.
San Manuel Digital is the interactive division of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, who run the biggest land based tribal government gaming businesses in California called the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino. The simulated product will be integrated with the company’s loyalty program.
The simulated gaming system underwent public beta testing in October which “proved the demand for Simulated Gaming™ in the Californian regional US market”, according to San Miguel Digital.
“The early beta test results have reinforced our decision to move online in partnership with GAN who have opened the door to San Manuel engaging with new patrons across California and new online-only players both nationwide and Internationally,” Matthew Cullen, chief executive officer of San Manuel Digital said.

That is the reason many of the land casinos use for having a social or simulated gambling product. To keep their land patrons aware of new promotions at their casinos, but like JennaROX said; the casinos will turn them into rewards/contests within Club Serrano or whatever. I believe that is true, fir now, but it is only the tip of the iceberg. These new social or simulated sites know what is slowly evolving in the US and that is full fledged gambling online. By having these sites already online, they will be well prepared to make the big change, almost with a flip of a switch..... They are now just waiting.....

Playing with play money is very different from playing with real money as far as I am informed and I have discovered it myself. As I understand it, this is "simulated" gaming - meaning free play. The real-money play will still have to take place on Tribal land. The "simulated" free-play will allow San Manuel patrons, (like myself) to log into their Club Serrano ( San Manuel's Casino Rewards Program) account & accumulate points for play time. I am...
I am sure that as patrons spend their time playing for free online, San Manuel will use that traffic to raise Advertising Revenue, which will turn into rewards/contests within Club Serrano. Personally, I have never even logged into one of my casinos with play money. I can't rationalize playing video games with my free time. Truth be told, it is exactly what I do, just on a false pretense of playing to win money! If that money is not in the equation, I just don't get it. By the way, I am pretty sure that Primm Valley Casinos (Calif/Nevada State Line) have online gaming for card holders & I know Pala Casino (local So. Cal) is online & available for residents of NJ/NV. One last thing, the simulated gaming that San Manuel is launching will be for all players. Not just Calif residents. It says National & International play will be allowed. Maybe they will verify identity online? You definitely need to show ID to join Club Serrano, so we will have to wait and see...

So if your server in the US State of California is located on Indian tribal land, you can then put gaming software on this server and offer online betting in physical jurisdictions outside of the borders of the Indian tribal territory? This seems like a new approach insofar as I understood that legal gambling could be offered by Indian tribes in the USA, but only on their physical territory. It sounds interesting and like a bit of progress is going on over there.
