Gambling isn’t just for the older and wiser, and GameCo has set out to prove that fact, by introducing a gaming machine that will appeal to a younger crowd. The company, which develops gambling machines, unveiled its latest creation at this week’s G2E show in Las Vegas.
With more variety and skill-based play in mind, the company has produced what it is advertising as the world’s first machine which perfectly blends video gaming with gambling, equipped with arcade-style cabinets, and skill-based content.
It shares much in common with a standard slot machine, designed for a single player, and providing an equivalent house return. GameCo will be working with developers who are interested in adapting favored video game titles so that they are casino-ready.
Variety was a top priority in developing the new, youth-inspired concept, and GameCo executive, Elaine Graboyes promises just that, with themes ranging from sports, to racing, first-person shooters, puzzles, and hidden object games. Field trials are scheduled to begin in early 2016.
Graboyes commented, “Our skill-based VGMs are the natural evolution of the slot machine. Attracting millennials to the casino floor is the most critical issue facing gaming destinations today and GameCo is delivering the solution casinos need to engage this key audience. Nearly 93 million adult Americans play video games.”

This sounds like a really cool idea. Imagine a video game for racing that gives monetary rewards for your actual reflexes and reaction time skills in handling a virtual car or shooting a pistol or rifle...Or imagine a hall of young players with all the machines of the same type networked for racinng or shooting or what...

Now they are setting their sites on the youngest, but still of age to gamble crowd. The ones that play video games, but don't have anything that is interesting enough to wager money. I thought they were already doing this. Even I am looking forward to playing a more skill based slot machine.
