Gala Coral to Introduce More Top Changes

Group CEO previously Director of Marks & Spencer

After Gala Coral announced the appointment of a new non-executive Chairman Rob Templeman, a new staff-related announcement followed: the group has appointed a new CEO Carl Leaver, who will replace acting interim chief executive Neil Goulden.

Previously, Leaver occupied a position of Marks and Spencer’s director of international, home and direct, and before that he was CEO of De Vere Group plc and managing director of Travel Inn (Whitebread), now Premier Inn.

Apart from this, Neil Goulden decided to leave the Board as well, and the decision enters into force immediately. He will, however, stay around until the hand-over is implemented effectively, probably early next year, and he will also operate as a consultant for another three years. He’s been invited by Gala Coral's board to take the position of chairman emeritus in recognition of his contribution to Gala Coral over the past 10 years.

At the moment, Gala Coral’s board is made of Rob Templeman (Non Executive Chairman), Carl Leaver (Chief Executive), Gary Hughes (Chief Financial Officer), Don Kornstein (Non Executive), Charles Attwood (Non Executive), Wilf Walsh (Non Executive), Barry Hardy (Non Executive).
