Endemol and 888 Holdings combine in Italian joint venture

New gaming platform will feature big brand shows

Online gambling operator and software provider 888 Holdings has entered into an Italian joint venture agreement with the Italian subsidiary of Dutch television production house Endemol.

The agreement involves the preparation and launch of a comprehensive internet gambling platform that will feature gaming and entertainment content based on famous Endemol brands like Deal or No Deal and Big Brother.

The platform will be Italian-focused on an 888.it domain, assuming that Italian online gambling regulators approve the licence application, hopefully in Q3/2010.

888 chief executive Gigi Levy said: “Now that online gaming has become an established and hugely popular form of entertainment, strategic partnerships with media companies are critical for growth, especially in newly regulated markets such as Italy”.
