News came this week that director general of Spain's online gambling directorate DGOJ, Enrique Alejo (54) is leaving the regulator after just 16 months, in order to take up a post of CEO at Spanish TV company RTVE.
For the latest position, he was sponsored by RTVE president Leopoldo Gonzalez-Echenique, and approved by the board of the television corporate on Apr. 24.
At present, it is not known who will replace him as head of the DGOJ, but until the person is elected, Alejo's responsibilities will be divided among his three assistant directors at the DGOJ, Jaime Lorenzo GarcĂa-Ormaechea (ADG-Management and Institutional Relations); Cecilia Pons (Deputy Director Inspection Play and Deputy Director Carlos Hernandez Riera (General Gambling Regulation.)
