After authorities conducted a raid on a Makati City call centre, 73 people from across the globe have been detained, reports The Philippines Tribune.
According to the story, the raid was a consequence of an anonymous tip-off regarding workers without permits operating in the call center as agents for Super 7 Ventures.
BI Intel. Division Chief, Atty. Jose Carlitos Licas, has indeed confirmed that foreigners without permits were employed by an illegal gambling organization, under the guise of a call center, as online gambling agents.
The raid was undertaken as a component of the authority’s “Magsumbong” programme, aiming to uncover permitless foreigners who are living and working illegally in the Philippines, concludes Licas.

Not sure what the "Super 7 " part means does anybody know? If the people working here were in the country illegally then I think the goverment has every right to do something about it, but it s most unfair that legitimate employees at the same business could end up losing their jobs as a result.

Poor people who lost their works due to this stupid policy of philippines government. I hope workers will not be punished with something like jail, because it will be really stupid. Yes, and every such news i am always very angry on governments, hate when they thinking that gambling is a big problem.
