Multimillion case swings in search engine’s favor
This has been a good week for the famous Internet search engine giant Yahoo, which has announced that it has won a US$ 627 million court case against “a scam that tried to dupe people into believing they had won prizes in a bogus lottery” sponsored by the company.
The ruling was passed by a New York federal court, but industry observers seem to diminish Yahoo’s triumph stating that organizers of such online scams are often difficult to pin down, so it’s questionable when and whether Yahoo’s going to be paid off.
In its lawsuit, the company stated that the lottery hoax “was designed to dupe people into providing passwords and other sensitive personal data, such as credit card account information.”

The amount of people who don't practice the smallest degree of online security never surprises me. Maybe I just paranoid but give out any personal info is a risk.
