Betsson AB has acquired Class One Holding Ltd, a Dutch online gambling group out of Malta which includes Oranje Casino, Kroon Casino and an affiliate business.
Overall the company focuses on the Dutch market; however Kroon Casino targets the Belgian market as well.
"With this acquisition, Betsson gains a strategic position in the Netherlands and becomes one of the biggest players on the Dutch market which is expected to be re-regulated during 2015," said Magnus Silfverberg, president and CEO of Betsson.
"This would give Betsson's profits from locally-regulated markets exceeding 25 percent of the group's total profit. The deal also gives Betsson a larger and more significant presence in continental Europe."
Betsson has predicted that costs associated with the acquisition and integration will not top SEK 30 million over the next year.
The acquisition must still be approved by customary shareholders and regulators but the deal is expected to be completed sometime during the first quarter of 2014.
