The Atlantic Club land casino backed out of its acquisition deal with PokerStars, keeping the advance money, and now will close its doors which were bought for a cool $23.4 million by Tropicana Entertainment and Caesars Entertainment.
The Atlantic Club will officially close on January 13, 2014 and become the first AC casino to close since The Sands in 2006.
Tropicana will receive 1,641 of Atlantic Club’s slot machines and 48 table games for $8.4 million and Caesars will take over the property including over 800 hotel rooms for $15 million according to the bankruptcy filing.
A judge must approve the purchasers on Monday.
