Back Alberta Seeks Bidders

Last week, Alberta’s Gaming and Liquor Corporation (AGLC) have requested tender submissions for a new online gaming solution. The deadline for submissions is the end of February 2015.

The corporation is interested in scouting the market for various product types and to determine what would be optimal for them, says AGLC’s chief executive officer, Bill Robinson.

Robinson estimates that there is “anywhere between $120 and $150 million” played by the people of Alberta, on so-called “grey market sites”.

Following the launch of PlayOLG.ca by Ontario last month, Alberta would be the eight major province of Canada to commence online gambling. This means that the province of Saskatchewan would be the only one left out.
