The British ID verification company 192Business is to provide its global ID verification services to online gambling group 888.com properties to beef up ID checks in player acquisition initiatives. 192's fast verification systems will come into play at the account creation stage of a sign-up, countering underage sign-up attempts and shielding the company from ID fraud and money laundering.

Ruth Tanami, who directs responsible gambling operations for the 888 group, commented: “Player verification enables us to go into new markets safely and responsibly. It not only minimises paper-based player identity checking that impairs the customer experience, but maintains our commitment to being a socially responsible operator by preventing underage players accessing our gaming sites."

Eran Gonen, senior vice president at 888, characterised the ID verification technology from 192business as a “critical tool for 888” as the company expands into new markets.
